Mo Abudu Takes EbonyLife Place to London

Nigerian media entrepreneur Mo Abudu is taking the EbonyLife Place brand beyond Nigeria, with the planned opening of EbonyLife Place London in October 2026.

The new venue on Wandsworth Road is being developed as a cinema and cultural destination focused on African and Black storytelling, while also bringing together elements of food, fashion, music, art and entertainment.

More Than a Cinema

According to the announcement, EbonyLife Place London is designed to be more than a traditional cinema.

The venue is expected to include the Amani Auditorium, a Grand Reception, the Afrobeat Restaurant, Fèhintì Lounge, Maji Concession & Bar, Zuri Retail and The Living Wall Gallery.

The project is intended to give audiences in the UK a dedicated space to experience African and Black films while also creating an environment where different aspects of African culture can come together.

A New Home for African Storytelling

The London expansion represents a major step for the EbonyLife brand, which already operates an entertainment and lifestyle destination in Lagos.

EbonyLife Place Lagos combines cinema, restaurants, hospitality and event spaces, providing a model that brings entertainment and lifestyle experiences together under one roof.

The London project takes that concept into one of the world's major cultural cities.

For African filmmakers and audiences in the diaspora, a permanent venue dedicated to African and Black cinema could provide another platform for stories that might otherwise have limited opportunities for theatrical exposure.

Beyond film, the project is expected to showcase African creativity through food, fashion, art and other cultural experiences.
